Use aftercare as a safety tool

Most routine aftercare is simple: keep the area clean, avoid unnecessary trauma and follow the product- or device-specific instructions you were given. The more important purpose of aftercare is recognizing when a symptom falls outside the expected recovery pattern.

If you have difficulty breathing, stroke-like symptoms, sudden vision change/loss, severe unusual pain or another potentially life-threatening symptom, call 911 or seek emergency care rather than waiting for an app response.

How these guides are reviewed

THCB aftercare pages are written as general patient education and checked against current primary safety sources when available, including FDA labeling, FDA device safety communications and official manufacturer patient information. Each treatment guide shows its review date and links to the safety sources used.

Because products, treatment areas and individual clinical circumstances differ, the instructions given to you by your treating provider for your specific treatment take priority over this general library.
