Neuromodulator Aftercare

Mild tenderness, pinpoint redness, swelling or bruising can occur at injection sites. The visible effect develops over time rather than immediately, and onset varies by product, dose, area and individual response.

Quick recovery priorities

Follow the instructions for the exact product, device and treatment area you received.
Keep treated sites clean and avoid unnecessary rubbing, picking or pressure.

What is usually normal

Pinpoint redness, small raised injection-site bumps, mild tenderness or bruising can occur shortly after treatment and generally settle.
Temporary headache or a heavy/tight sensation can occur in some patients depending on the treatment area and product.
Do not judge final symmetry immediately. For BOTOX Cosmetic, official patient information notes that some cosmetic effects can begin within 1–2 days, while full results for several approved facial indications are assessed at 30 days; other neuromodulators have different timelines.

For the rest of today

Treat injection sites gently. Avoid vigorous rubbing, pressing or massage unless your treating provider specifically instructed otherwise for a particular area.
Normal facial movement is fine. Use skin care that does not require vigorous rubbing.
A cloth-wrapped cool compress may be used briefly for ordinary injection-site discomfort or bruising. Do not apply ice directly to the skin.

Over the next days

Allow the treatment to develop before deciding that an area needs correction or additional units.
Keep your planned follow-up if THCB asked to reassess symmetry, response or treatment goals.
Contact THCB for a new eyelid or brow droop, persistent eye dryness/irritation, troublesome asymmetry, or another symptom that concerns you.

Get urgent medical help now if you notice

Difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing.
Generalized muscle weakness, double or blurred vision, severe drooping eyelids, hoarseness, or symptoms that feel widespread rather than limited to the treated area.
Wheezing, faintness, rapidly progressive swelling, or another sign of a severe allergic reaction.

If you have trouble breathing, signs of stroke, sudden vision loss/change, or another potentially life-threatening symptom, call 911 or seek emergency care rather than waiting for an app response.
