Radiesse Aftercare

Bruising, redness, swelling, pain, itching and temporary firmness or bumps can occur after RADIESSE. Exact aftercare also depends on the treatment area and whether RADIESSE was used for contouring or in a diluted biostimulatory plan.

Quick recovery priorities

Follow the instructions for the exact product, device and treatment area you received.
Keep treated sites clean and avoid unnecessary rubbing, picking or pressure.
Do not use this page to self-diagnose a complication. If something feels significantly wrong or is worsening, contact THCB or seek appropriate medical care.

First 24 hours

Keep injection sites clean and avoid unnecessary pressure or aggressive massage unless your provider specifically instructed massage for your treatment plan.
A cloth-wrapped cold pack may be used briefly for comfort. Do not apply ice directly to the skin.
RADIESSE patient guidance advises minimizing strenuous activity and extensive sun or heat exposure for about 24 hours and until initial swelling or redness has resolved.

As the area settles

Temporary firmness, tenderness, bruising and swelling can occur. Do not attempt to reshape an injected area yourself.
If the hands were treated, temporary swelling or difficulty with some activities can occur; follow the specific activity guidance you were given.
Delayed-onset inflammation has been reported around dermal fillers after viral or bacterial illnesses, infections, vaccinations or dental procedures. Contact THCB for new swelling or inflammation in a previously settled area.
Contact THCB if pain, redness, heat, swelling, drainage, firmness or a new/enlarging nodule is worsening rather than improving.

Get urgent medical help now if you notice

Severe or unusual pain, blanching, or gray/blue/mottled skin.
Any vision change or neurologic symptom.
Rapid swelling, breathing difficulty or another sign of a severe allergic reaction.

If you have trouble breathing, signs of stroke, sudden vision loss/change, or another potentially life-threatening symptom, call 911 or seek emergency care rather than waiting for an app response.
